"Try It" grants can help you explore an idea "Try It" grants can help you explore an idea

Have you got a new, exciting business idea that you are looking to explore further? You can apply for up to £250 funding from the UEA Student Enterprise team to test your idea.

With the support of Santander Universities, this grant is designed to allow you to test an idea to see if it has momentum, and to provide good experience to help you secure funding in the future.

We’re looking to fund people who identify solutions to problems, and who can demonstrate a demand for a product/service that can be easily marketed to reach customers.

The Try It award is available to all current students and those who have graduated in the last six months.

What next?

  • Complete our application form and project budget sheet which clearly demonstrates how you would use the grant if awarded.
  • View the grading criteria for the Try It award here, in order to get a clear idea of what your application needs to address.

If successful, you will have six months to spend the grant.

Before applying, it is worth noting that students and graduates who engage with the services offered by the Student Enterprise team have a significantly higher chance of being awarded funding. This might be through one-to-one coaching, attending workshops and events or having a start-up mentor. Find out more about the range of services offered here.

You can get in touch with the Student Enterprise team by dropping into EnterpriseCentral, emailing info.enterprise@uea.ac.uk.
