Please explain how your career has developed since graduating.

After a few "just graduated" jobs, I've spent the last 15 years with the same company and created and developed this position from nothing.

What is the most rewarding aspect of your current role or your greatest career achievement so far?

I'm honoured to work with music and creative people every day. My career highlight was orchestrating the recent Universal Pictures film of Les Misarables and being nominated for a Grammy award as a record producer.

What steps did you take in finding employment (in particular did you use the UEA careers centre, job websites, networking events)?

My field isn't particularly well understood in careers centres or job centres. Every job I've had I've found through personal networking.

What are the key skills you learnt at UEA?

Obvious musical skills, but UEA allowed me to try things; to put on concerts and explore repertoire. I was free to create and find what made me tick.

How have these skills or your course made a difference in your career?

I use some of the skills I learnt on the course on a daily basis.  My development as a musician that began at UEA has been invaluable.

Why did you choose to study at UEA rather than another institution?

I wanted to study contemporary music and the UEA music department was well known for that.

Do you have any tips or advice for current students or recent graduates?

Get out there and meet people. Take every opportunity you can and don't be afraid to try things.
