How do I notify the University of a change of contact details?

The quickest way to notify the University of your change of address is to complete the Update your Details form

Alumni Benefit Card

Am I entitled to any discounts or benefits as an alumnus of the University?

There are several discounts available to alumni of the University, full details of which can be found here on the Alumni Benefits and Services page.This gives the card holder benefits on accommodation, leisure activities and other deals across the local region.

The library has a discounted rate of £50 for graduates. For more information see our IT pages

The UEA Sportspark has discounts for alumni across their range of memberships.

Alumni also have access to free careers advice for 3 years after graduation, as well as other benefits, such as registering for for internship programmes and careers events. See our Careers website for more information. 

In addition to the Benefit Card, the Alumni office runs events and reunions internationally throughout the year

Ziggurat magazine

How do I go about receiving the alumni magazine Ziggurat?

Ziggurat is posted out annually. To receive the alumni magazine you must ensure your postal address is correct. To update this, complete the Update my Details form.  Alternatively you can  email us at alumni@uea.ac.uk with your updated details. All your publication preferences can be updated online, you will need to complete the subscriptions form.

Can I contribute to Ziggurat or eZiggurat?

How do I receive information about University events and reunions?

The best way to ensure about the latest events and offers is to keep us informed of your current email address. To update this use the Update my Details form

All events and reunions are advertised online, so please check the events section of the alumni website for up-to-date information.

Can you put me in touch with a friend?

The Alumni office can help you get in touch with former class mates, no matter when you studied at UEA.
Due to data protection we are unable to provide contact details but will pass on any messages. If you can  email us at alumni@uea.ac.uk and we will be able to forward a message on to them, as long as we have their contact details.

Can you help me organise a reunion?

The Alumni office would be happy to help you organise a reunion. We can help with access to venues in on campus and publicising the event to alumni. Please get in touch with us by  telephone 01603 593815 or by  emailing alumni@uea.ac.uk for further information.

Can you help me establish an alumni group in my part of the world?

The Alumni office really appreciates the hard work of graduates in supporting the University, particularly those who help us with international groups. For more information on how you can set up a group please visit the Alumni Groups section of the website. We can help by putting you in touch with fellow graduates in your country, helping to organise events and keeping you up-to-date on the latest news from the University.

How can I find out what events are taking place at the University?

There are a variety of events taking place at the University throughout the year, including concerts, lectures, receptions and networking events. All events are listed on the What's On section of the website and you can be added to the mailing list to keep you up to date.

What does alumni mean?

Alumni is the plural form of the Latin word "alumnus" and means a graduate of a school, university, college or other institution. Alumnus is the masculine single for the term and alumna refers to an individual female graduate.

How do I become a member of the alumni association?

Once you graduate from the University you'll automatically become a member of the alumni association. You just need to keep in touch with us, updating your contact details and preferences, and we'll be in touch throughout the year.

Who is eligible to be a member of the alumni association?

Students who have graduated, or graduated in absentia from their course at UEA are eligible to join and automatically become part of the alumni association. If you are unsure of your status, please contact the Alumni office:

How do I obtain a reference?

To obtain a reference, all former students of the University should contact the Student Records office using one of the options below:

When I graduate, can I continue to use the University's IT facilities?

Only current students and staff of the University can use the University's IT facilities. Members of the library are able to use IT facilities for limited, library related activities.

When I graduate can I continue to use the University library?

Alumni benefit from a 50% discount on external membership at the University Library (£50 rather than £100).  You can fill in a form to request your Benefit Card. Once you have received your Benefit Card you will be eligible to apply for external membership through the Library website

What can I do to get involved with supporting the University of East Anglia?

There are many ways in which alumni can continue to support the University, ranging from organising reunions, becoming involved with careers activities to donating to the Annual Fund. For more information please visit the Donate section of the alumni website.

Where can I buy University memorabilia?

The University's Student Union sells all official merchandise and gifts for UEA. Please visit their online shop for further information - or call in to The Shop if you are on campus.

What is my UEA acronym?

Your UEA acronym is made up of the three letter acronym of your School of Study, plus the year that you arrived at UEA. For example, if you joined UEA in 1990 in the School of European Studies, your acronym would be EUR90. 

Do I get a special alumni rate if I want to do another degree at the University of East Anglia?

We are proud to offer a number of scholarships and bursaries for postgraduate taught degrees in various subject areas.

As a UEA graduate, I would like to visit campus with my son or daughter for an Open Day. When do they take place? 

We have dozens of ‘UEA families' where several generations of the same family have graduated from the University and we love to hear from you! See further information on Open Days.
