Interdisciplinary Student Science Laboratories Interdisciplinary Student Science Laboratories

Earthquakes, volcanoes, tsunamis, weather monitoring, pest migration, water security – and climate change. Our work on hazard and risk has created a platform for further research that will bridge disciplines, as well as mapping the social, human and economic impact of disasters.

To continue to support UEA’s world-leading environment and science research and encourage interdisciplinary science teaching, we need new facilities. Our existing student labs are old, outdated and in need of repair.

The Difference Campaign is raising funds for a new integrated sciences building, bringing our facilities in line with our innovative method of science teaching.

The new Integrated Science Laboratories will change the way that science is taught at UEA. With shared social and work spaces, students from all science disciplines will be able to share ideas and learn from each other.

These state-of-the-art facilities will include teaching spaces and specially designed laboratories to enable expansion in chemistry, pharmacy, biology, natural sciences, environmental sciences, physical sciences and engineering.

Most importantly, the new Laboratories will produce a new generation of scientists who will go out into the world and make it a better place. UEA is making a major investment in this development from our own reserves. However, we need your help. We aim to raise £3 million more to reach our goal.
