Education

Implementation Team

Scope

We will continue to develop and advance the education of the next generation of outstanding graduates using progressive approaches to address the key issues of our changing world. Beyond specialist environmental courses and modules, we will also utilise our whole campus, community and course provision to provide opportunities to inform, educate and empower our students so they are able to contribute to positive social change, both within the university and beyond our boundaries. Global and societal environmental challenges require borderless solutions, so we will build on our reputation and expertise in interdisciplinarity, providing opportunities for students to work across subject areas to address sustainability challenges.

We will demonstrate environmentally sustainable practices through the ways we deliver student experience and student support initiatives, from Welcome activity for new students to supporting students to cope with climate anxiety, from awareness-raising about sustainable choices to the development of green skills, and we will engage our student community in a two-way dialogue on the way UEA should be meeting the challenge.

Priority Target for 2030

  • To embed sustainability education and awareness in all courses

We are excited to use our collective expertise and the power of interdisciplinarity to deliver an education that will prepare our students for the jobs of the future and become leaders to the solve challenges of a changing world.
