This modular programme aims to support your professional development with opportunities to integrate learning with practice, foster critical reflection and enable you to meet the expectations of the social work frameworks for Continuing Professional Development, including the Knowledge and Skills Statements for different specialisms and the regulating body, Social Work England.
Students who have completed modules with us have told us they really valued their experience, gained important knowledge and skills for practice and felt supported in this process.
Within this programme, you can either study individual modules on a credit only basis to enhance your Continuing Professional Development or build credits towards the Masters in Advanced Social Work. For the full Master of Arts you will need 180 credits and you can study modules in any order. None of the modules are compulsory for the Masters, but some have specific requirements of entry (eg the Approved Mental Health Professional modules), so please review individual modules before applying.
The range of modules available enables you to continue your studies even when you change roles or move sectors. You can study over a five year period to complete the Master of Arts or exit during this period with a Post Graduate Certificate (60 credits) or Post Graduate Diploma (120 credits) – any of which would mark you out as someone who has achieved Continuing Professional Development in a meaningful way.
