Sustainable Aquatic Food Lead

Kieran is the Sustainable Aquatic Food Lead at Cefas, which is part of the UK government. He has over 25 years’ experience in the application of modelling and statistics to solve real-world problems. His current research centres on the application of science to support policy and management of fisheries, in the context of sustainable use and food security. He examines the social, economic, and biological impacts of marine fisheries, and novel approaches to support fisheries monitoring, modelling, assessment, and management. He provides advice to policy makers and contributes to stock assessments. He is an honorary Professor in Environmental Sciences at the University of East Anglia, contributes to the UEA-Cefas Collaborative Centre for Sustainable Use of the Seas, and has published over 100 peer-reviewed papers.
