Overview
Launched in 2007, the Norwich Academic SFP is a prestigious two-year entry point into the Integrated Academic Training pathway (IAT). It offers Foundation Year 2 doctors structured support to gain hands-on research experience, mentorship, and professional skills development at Norwich Medical School and across Norwich Research Park.

Part of Health Education East of England’s East Anglian Foundation School, the Norwich Academic SFP has trained over 225 doctors since 2007.
Strong partnership between UEA and NNUH ensures excellent clinical and academic support.
Trainees are based within Norwich Medical School, other UEA faculties, or Norwich Research Park institutes, offering unparalleled access to internationally recognised researchers and clinicians.
More than 100 postgraduate research students are registered currently within health-related research degrees
