UEA Sociology ranked UK top five in Daily Mail University Guide 2027

The BA (Hons) in Sociology at the University of East Anglia (UEA) has been ranked fifth in the UK in the Daily Mail University Guide 2027.
These rankings are based on a range of performance indicators, including teaching quality, student support and experience, graduate employment prospects, and research strength.
Dr Georgia Philip, Lecturer in Social Work and Sociology; and Sociology Course Director at UEA, said:
“As the new course director for Sociology, it was great to see our course ranked at fifth in the UK in the Daily Mail University Guide 2027. I am hugely proud of our small but mighty Sociology teaching team and want to thank everyone for their dedication and hard work.
“We pride ourselves on designing and delivering our course in ways that give students a really exciting and challenging learning experience, and gives them opportunities to demonstrate that learning in a variety of ways.
“As we welcome our seventh cohort of students, I know they are in good hands as they discover the kinds of sociologists they want to become.”
Sociology was one of six UEA subjects ranked among the UK's top 10 in the Daily Mail University Guide 2027, alongside Pharmacology (1st), Sport and Exercise Sciences (1st), Pharmacy (2nd), Geography, Earth and Environmental Sciences (Natural Sciences) (9th), and Nursing and Midwifery (10th).
