Norfolk’s Lord-Lieutenant and Deputy Lieutenants have expressed their support for UEA’s civic role in the region.
Lady Dannatt MBE was joined by Deputy Lieutenants on campus to hear more about the work of CivicUEA and the university’s research themes – ClimateUEA, CreativeUEA and HealthUEA.
Dr Johanna Forster, Associate Pro Vice-Chancellor for Civic, said: “This was an excellent opportunity to discuss how we can harness our mutual interest and strengths and take the ethos of UEA’s Civic Charter forward with these influential supporters.
“We have a long list of opportunities to explore and ambition from all those around the table to work more closely together in future.”
The actions from the meeting covered a range of activities, from opportunities to work together to support the region’s economic potential, health inequalities and working to better promote the region.
The group also heard about the successful support from the Lieutenancy in the recent Gloucester shipwreck discovery, exhibition and ongoing fundraising.
UEA’s Civic Charter invites businesses, organisations and individuals from all sectors to engage with UEA and create opportunities for new projects and collaborations. You can share the Charter among your contacts and networks, and encourage them to sign up.
