UEA is a proud member of the Stonewall Workplace Equality Index. By highlighting the University’s support for our LGBT+ community, we hope to ensure that all LGBT+ staff feel safe, supported and empowered to be open and proud of their identity in the workplace.
The Staff Pride network already have biographies available to read, showcasing our members who have stepped up as LGBT+ Representatives. However, on this page, we are keen to provide a space where our members can highlight using articles or blogs their experiences of being LGBT+ to the wider University community.
Renee Mineart who works as an analyst in ITCS and is a member of our Staff Pride community has written a four-part blog of their account of ‘Growing Up Trans’. We hope to add to this page with other articles and blogs over the coming months.
(Please be aware that Renee’s blog contains potentially distressing subject matter.)
