How do I become a member of the alumni association?
Once you successfully complete your course at UEA you’ll automatically become a member of the alumni association. But in order to benefit, you need to ensure your contact details and preferences are updated – so we can keep in touch with you.
Am I eligible to be a member of the alumni association?
Students who have successfully completed their studies are eligible to join and automatically become part of the alumni association. Contact the Alumni office if you’re unsure.

Am I entitled to any discounts or benefits as an alumnus of the University?
Yes! There are several discounts available to alumni of the University, from scholarships and reductions on course fees discounts on accommodation, leisure activities and other deals across the local region.
The library has a discounted rate of £50 for graduates and Sportspark has discounts for alumni across their range of memberships.
Graduates are eligible for careers support up to three years after graduating, as well as other benefits, such as registering for internship programmes and careers events. Visit the Careers pages for more information.

How do I receive information about University events and reunions?
The best way to ensure you’re in the loop with the latest events and offers is to keep us informed of your current email address – you can do that my updating your details online.
All UEA public events are advertised online, and you can subscribe to What’s On, which features a range of UEA affiliated events on campus and further afield.

Can I continue to use the University’s IT facilities when I graduate?
Only current students and staff of UEA can use the University’s IT facilities. Members of the library are able to use IT facilities for limited, library related activities.
Can I continue to use the University library?
Alumni benefit from a 50 per cent discount on external membership at the University Library – £50 rather than £100. In order to claim the discount, request your Benefit Card and, once you have received your Benefit Card, you will be eligible to apply for external membership through the Library. This does not give you access to online resources.
Can you put me in touch with a friend?
The Alumni office can help you get in touch with former class mates, no matter when you studied at UEA. Due to data protection we are unable to provide contact details but we can pass on messages if we’re able to get in touch. If you’d like to get in touch with a friend or ex-colleague, please email the alumni team.
Can you help me organise a reunion?
We can help put you in touch with the right graduates, publicise your event, and help with access to venues on campus. Please give us a call or email us for more information.
Can you help me establish an alumni group in my part of the world?
We certainly can – and we’re extremely grateful to anyone keen to set up a group. We can help by putting you in touch with fellow graduates in your country, helping to organise events, connecting you to visiting academics and keeping you up-to-date with the latest news from UEA.
