WHY CHOOSE CANBERRA

The University of Canberra (UC), based in Australia's national capital, occupies a site of almost 120 hectares in the suburb of Bruce, about eight kilometres north-west of the central business district. The Bruce precinct includes a technology park, the Australian Institute of Sport, a campus of the Canberra Institute of Technology, a major hospital and several government departments. The University established a second campus in Brisbane in 2002.

The University currently has enrolled approximately 10,000 students from some 90 countries. Its main source of international students is the Asia-Pacific region, but students also come to UC from Africa, North and South America, the Middle East and Europe.

Canberra is a cosmopolitan city that offers an exciting blend of urban living and nature. Situated on the ancient lands of the Indigenous Ngunnawal people, Canberra's name is thought to mean ‘meeting place'.

Canberra boasts all the facilities and infrastructure that you would expect of a national capital. Canberra is home to important national institutions like the National Library, National Gallery, National Museum and National Archives. For more day-to-day facilities and services, the city boasts excellent shopping malls, cinemas, restaurants, bars and cafes.
