WHY CHOOSE MUST
Mbarara University of Science and Technology (MUST) was established in October 1989 as the second public university in Uganda. Originally a university to train health professionals, it has now expanded to include six faculties. The Faculty of Interdisciplinary Studies where Global Development students will study teaches classes including agriculture and rural livelihoods, gender and reproductive rights, conflict, community development and more. Academically, MUST offers excellent problem-based and community-based learning opportunities.
MUST is a thriving residential campus and community where students live in ‘villages’. Exchange students live in 'expat' houses which comprise of single-bedroom units or units with 3-5 bedrooms with a living room and kitchen. Compared to the UK, living is very affordable.
Extra-curricular activities, professional student associations and clubs, performances, forums and sports and games beckon both students as well as the communities around the University. There are also a number of well-known and established student activities, such as KinaMUST and the cultural gala.
