WHY CHOOSE KNUST
The Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) was established in 1952 and is located in Kumasi, the rapidly growing capital city of Ghana’s Ashanti region. Kumasi is Ghana’s second city, and is often referred to as “The Garden City” because of the many species of flowers and plants around the city and its surroundings of rolling green hills.
The University has a campus of sixteen square-kilometres of undulating land and pleasant surroundings, and is about seven kilometres from the central business district of the city of Kumasi. On campus there are modern buildings interspersed with verdant lawns and tropical flora which provide a cool and refreshing atmosphere. KNUST has already become an important centre for the training of scientists and technologists, not only for Ghana, but for other countries in Africa and around the world. There is a large, multi-cultural community of international students at KNUST, with up to 10% of the total student population being made up of foreign students. There is also an international student association that helps international students with accommodation, orientation and campus tours.
