Comenius University in Bratislava is the largest and oldest university in Slovakia, with most of its faculties located in Bratislava. It was founded in 1919, shortly after the creation of Czechoslovakia. It is named after Jan Amos Comenius, a 17th century Czech teacher and philosopher. Almost 2,400 international students from 70 countries enjoy studying at the university.

Comenius University in Bratislava has 13 faculties and serves 27,000 students each year. The university hosts the most incoming students in the country, and have a rich tradition and experience in hosting incoming students. The university offers diverse study programmes encompassing a broad range of human knowledge - from medicine, humanities and social sciences, to natural sciences, mathematics and theology.

The main building of the university and the Faculty of Law are located right in the city centre, with excellent accessibility to city life and only 10 minutes by tram to student accommodation. There is a lower cost of living in Bratislava in comparison to surrounding capital cities, and the city itself is well located in proximity to borders with neighbouring countries and other capital cities, including Vienna, Budapest and Prague. Bratislava is a small capital city, but with a nice landscape, beautiful nature and monuments, with the possibility of sports and cultural activities directly in the city centre or the possibility of trips to places nearby such as for hiking, water reservoirs, swimming pools, thermal baths, mountains, castles among many others.
