Schools STEM advisory network

Through strong links with business organisations the service aims to ensure that all schools, colleges and educational bodies can offer their students programmes which support the curriculum and increase the quality and quantity of students moving into further STEM education, training and development. The UEA STEM coordinator works with schools to help staff decide on the type of activities appropriate for their particular school and advise on resources available to them. STEMNET ambassador network
The STEM Ambassador network is STEMNET's flagship programme. It relies on over 28,000 volunteers who offer their time and support to promote STEM subjects to young learners. It is an invaluable and free resource for teachers, helping them deliver the STEM curriculum in fresh and innovative ways.Ambassadors are recruited from all walks of life and cover a wide range of age groups and interests. STEM Ambassadors get involved in the programme for a number of reasons - perhaps to enhance their CV or work experience, or to gain experience of working in a classroom environment, maybe to take advantage of the vast array of business networking opportunities available or simply to share their enthusiasm for their STEM subject. An increasing number of organisations also embed the STEM Ambassador programme into their CPD programmes. Employers and teachers also find it helpful to work together to improve student employability skills. Ambassadors can provide teachers and students with a valuable window onto the world of work and real life application of the STEM subjects in all sectors of work.
