Health Related Courses
Students studying health related courses will be able to get additional financial support.
Eligible students residing in the UK, studying Nursing, Midwifery, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Operating Department Practice or Speech and Language Therapy will not pay tuition fees; these will be covered by the NHS.
In addition eligible students will normally receive a small non-means tested NHS Grant, currently £1,000 per annum, and may apply for a means tested Bursary. Students can also apply for a reduced rate non-means tested Living Cost Loan (also known as a Maintenance Loan) from Student Finance England. NHS students are not eligible to apply for Living Cost Grant or a UEA bursary. Eligibility for bursaries is at the discretion of the NHS Business Services Authority and further information and criteria is available from the NHS website. You can also search for 'NHS Bursaries' on Facebook.
Students studying Social Work are also eligible for an NHS Bursary. Please consult the NHS website for more information.
Students on NHS funded courses (i.e. where no fee is payable from the student) offered by the University are not eligible for a University bursary. NHS funded courses are those offered by the School of Nursing Sciences and School of Allied Health Professions.
