Free afternoons, evenings and weekends are students favourite time, when you are not attending one of our amazing socials there is so much culture and entertainment for you to take in. You can visit one of Norwich’s four cinemas, visit the theatre, absorb the history of the city at Norwich Cathedral or Norwich Castle, or you might even see one of your favourite bands live this summer!

Whether you decide to walk along the ancient cobbled streets and by the historic castle in England’s first UNESCO city of Literature or you pick up a few souvenirs from Norwich’s award winning shopping streets, just don’t forget there is so much for you to do day or night!



This is Norfolk

UEA is located in the beautiful British county of Norfolk. Escape the city and you’re only moments away from  the countryside – famous for its huge skies and charming villages. 

Travel is easy! Grab a train to the beautiful Norfolk coastline and discover miles of beaches and world-famous nature reserves, then enjoy traditional fish and chips fresh from the seaside. Or round up a few friends and go out boating on the Norfolk Broads.  Get a taste for rural life with country walks and visit the unspoilt medieval villages and stately homes dotted around Norfolk.

For those who want to travel out further, both London and Cambridge are less than two hours from Norwich by train! And with Norwich’s international airport, you have the perfect base from which to explore the UK and Europe, both during and after your programme. All you need to do is decide where to go!
