Types of Partnership arrangement

Partnerships provision at the University takes several forms:

Validated

This means that a partner (or 'associate') develops a course (with support from the University where appropriate) and the proposed course is then considered by a Validation Panel chaired by UEA and including UEA and external academics.  If successful, the course will then be delivered by the college for a period set by the panel, after which it will be reviewed and revalidated.  We validate courses at City College Norwich, Easton College, London Academy of Diplomacy, Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts in London, UEA INTO and INTO UEA London.

Jointly Validated

From September 2007 in partnership with the University of Essex, UEA will jointly validate courses at the newly launched University Campus Suffolk (UCS).  The UCS partnership covers courses at the Ipswich Hub, Otley College, Great Yarmouth College, Lowestoft College, Suffolk New College and West Suffolk College.

Franchised

This means that a partner college delivers a course that has been developed by UEA.  We have a franchise agreement with Lowestoft College to run the Foundation Year in Science.
