The 18-22 March, 2016 saw more than 40 UEA Choir members go on tour to Caen in partnership with COUR (Chouer et Orchestre Universitaire Régional de Caen). Alongside the Choirmaster, Tom Primrose, and accompanist, Samuel Bardsley, the choir enjoyed outings to the Bayeux Tapestry and Caen Castle, visited Caen’s flourishing market, and travelled the local area in between a busy concert schedule in various churches and schools in the city.
The choir sang a varied repertoire of European sacred music, including Dvorak’s Mass in D Major, Op. 86, Duruflé’s Requiem, Op. 9., and Brahm’s Geistlieches Lied. The two choirs of UEA and Universitaire Régional de Caen then came together in a large final concert at the Amphithéâtre Pierre Daure.
The UEA Choir enjoyed welcoming COUR to Norwich for their return tour in Spring 2017.
