Film, Television and Media
)
Learn how film, television and media shape our world, and gain the knowledge and skills to help create a brighter future.
We are one of the longest established centres for film, television and media studies in the UK, internationally recognised as pioneers in the field. For 50 years we have been at the forefront of studying these subjects.
We are considered world leaders in the study of British cinema, gender and genre, science fiction and fantasy, television and streaming, popular music, and digital storytelling. At UEA we have an outstanding set of offers across media studies and media practice, from film and television studies, to media and cultural studies, to film and television production. We offer critical thinking and creative practice, from the library to the radio studio, from the scholarly journal to the camera and mic.
Students will be taught by academic experts and creative practitioners with years of experience within the creative industries, who will educate and empower them to forge pathways through our courses that best fit the student’s individual interests and career goals. To facilitate this, our degrees offer choice and flexibility and opportunities for industry placements and studying abroad.
We have close links with the British Film Institute and a range of other major cultural institutions, film festivals and production companies. We are also home to our own internationally acclaimed film festivals, which students can help to design and organise, including the Green Film Festival and the Norwich Queer International Film Festival.
