Selecting the right template Selecting the right template

The templates provided are grouped according to your research status within EDU: UG/MA taught student or a staff member/PhD/EdD/EdPsyD student. Please access the relevant templates to support your project development. Each template focuses on a particular methodological approach to data collection: interviews, focus groups, observations, ethnographic work, and questionnaires. Please opt for the form most suited to your project and combine statements about different methods in one form if necessary. Please note that templates are divided into those needed for coursework specific projects ONLY, e.g. UG/MA dissertations or small research projects embedded within a module (where there is no expectation for publication), OR staff research projects or doctoral level theses where there is an expectation for publication; please choose the appropriate form.  If you are a student who thinks they may want to publish (or have the chance to publish) your work then ensure that you combine the statements for BOTH the dissertation aspects AND possible publication.

There are also example forms for virtual projects for each type of research project identified to give you a sense of how they might look in reality; feel free to use these as a guide but ensure that the language used fits your research population. Please refer to the guidelines to help you further. If you choose to use an exemplar, please ensure that statements regarding: withdrawal of data, anonymity and confidentiality, possible publication, and the storage of data reflect the appropriate template as there are subtle differences in the information provided. Please also note that if you are submitting a form from outside EDU, you should include the details of your home Head of School rather than EDUs.
