Lab facilities Lab facilities

Our laboratory facilities are excellent. We have five general purpose computing laboratories with over 100 HP EliteDesk workstaions running Windows 10 Enterprise 64-bit.

We also have an advanced graphics and computing lab, an electronics lab (the Lewin Lab) that contains equipment such as oscilloscopes, signal generators, spectrum analysers and Lego robots.

All of these labs are open for undergraduate and postgraduate students. During term time these labs host practical sessions for our teaching and when not in use they are open for students to use for coursework and project work. The labs all have provision for students to use their own laptop computers.

Opening times for Lewin lab is usually from 9:00am to 5:00pm.
Opening times for labs 1 to 5 are usually from 9:00am to 11:00pm.
(Please note these times are subject to change.)

In addition to our own labs the University has 450 PCs that are available for students to use, with 150 of these available on 24 hour access in the library.
