Welcome Week is a fantastic programme run by UEA and uea(su) to help all new undergraduate students start uni feeling confident, settled and ready for their new adventure.
Now in its second year, Welcome Week has grown to include even more opportunities for students to learn about their new home, what support and services are available, meet people and develop a sense of belonging to the UEA community.
Welcome Week programme
Some highlights from this year include:
- Make Your Halls Your Home
- A massive, free, DIY drop-in craftathon led by local artists to help students create one of a kind décor for their new flats. Activities include lino printing, embroidery, succulent planting, photo booths and more.
- Student-led sessions
- A team of student Co-Creation Interns have curated three unique daytime events – by students, for students. Sessions such as ‘How to be a student’, cooking and budgeting basics and, in collaboration with buddy(su), Speed Friending.
- UEA Marketplace
- The Welcome Zone will be turned into a marketplace exhibiting the wide range of opportunities and services available to students – from University of Sanctuary to Study Abroad to Careers, there’s sure to be something for everyone.
These sessions, plus many more including steadfast favourites such as the SU Societies and Club Fairs, are sure to help new students engage with everything that UEA has to offer.
