Under the Chemistry of Materials and Catalysis theme, research is focussed on the synthesis of novel materials, including organometallics, organics, coordination complexes, liquid crystals, supramolecular assemblies and nanomaterials.
Collectively, these have potential applications in a hugely broad range of areas such as next generation energy materials (new types of batteries), chemical industrial processes and manufacture, security (authentication), medicine (drugs and drug delivery), chemical sensing and many more.
