Supporting preparation for HE
Our team of HE advisers and Outreach staff work with hundreds of schools and colleges to raise knowledge, awareness and confidence to make informed decisions about Higher Education. Did you know we run a free preparing for university MOOC? This is a great opportunity to get a headstart on key skills for university study.
UEA’s Welcome Week for new undergraduate students delivers a huge range of events and workshops designed to support smooth transition to living and studying at UEA and enhance student confidence through introducing life on campus and in Norwich, facilitating students to make friends and find their community, introduce the different support services available to all students.
All UEA students have access to a wide range of advice and support (covering finance, wellbeing and learning enhancement) that they can both self-select to access and which reach out to in need students.
The UEA community
UEA and UEASU ensure a wealth of ways for students to make friends and find their community throughout their time at UEA including Buddy(SU) and Peer Assisted Learning Schemes, clubs and societies and our Do Something Different series of events, classes and workshops.
UEA offer a range of scholarships that students can apply for pre arrival, as well as providing annual bursaries to students with the low household income. For students who may find themselves in financial difficulty during their time at UEA, there is a student services fund available for those struggling to meet basic living costs or are faced with large unexpected costs.
