Language and Communication studies

Our community of staff and students is dedicated to understanding and applying contemporary communication practices, through the lens of translation, intercultural communication or applied linguistics.

You will become highly skilled in your chosen language(s) and discipline and will develop your knowledge of practical communication and relevant cultural contexts to an advanced level.

Our practical degrees, supported by our state-of-the-art language centre, foster the development of a wide range of vital professional skills. These skills will be instrumental in helping you become the kind of global multilingual graduate the world needs, preparing you for exciting professions you are already familiar with, and for professions you have yet to discover.

We collaborate on interdisciplinary and international projects with partners all over the world, doing cutting-edge research on a wide range of issues related to communication that have had an impact on policy, informed practitioners and furthered understanding.
