UEA subjects among UK best in student-focused league tables

The University of East Anglia has climbed to the top of a new league table for a variety of subjects – with Norwich named the nation's leading university city.
The Unifresher 2027 rankings saw UEA named best in the UK for philosophy, politics and economics, and HR management, while a further eight subjects secured top 10 places.
The results underline UEA's strength across a wide range of disciplines, with subjects from the arts and humanities to healthcare, social sciences and engineering ranked among the best in the country.
They build on UEA's wider success in the Unifresher Awards 2027, which saw the University ranked second overall in the UK.
Alongside top spots for philosophy, politics and economics (PPE) and human resource management, UEA's other strong-performing subjects included actuarial science (joint 3rd), midwifery (joint 3rd), general engineering (joint 5th) and social work (joint 6th).
Mechanical engineering and nursing also ranked among the UK's top subjects at 7th and joint 7th respectively, while occupational therapy was ranked 8th and Information Technology 9th.
The rankings, produced by student platform Unifresher, are designed to reflect the student experience alongside academic performance.
Subject tables combine measures including graduate earnings, teaching quality, student satisfaction, academic support and wider student experience indicators.
Prof Claire Pike, Pro-Vice-Chancellor Student Education and Experience, said: “These results reflect both the breadth of opportunities available to students and Norwich's reputation as one of the UK's leading student destinations.
“Together, the results underline UEA's position as one of the country's leading student-focused universities and reinforce Norwich's growing reputation as an outstanding place to live, study and build a community.”
The rankings also recognised Norwich as the UK's highest-ranked university city, while UEA was ranked fourth in the UK for nightlife, sixth for student societies and 10th for the freshers' experience.
