The day began evenly matched, with a 2-2 tie by midday, before Team UEA began to push ahead with a 7-2 lead. By 2pm, as the sun came out in full force, so did our momentum – extending the lead to 12-4 wins.
Throughout the afternoon, as the scores began to rise higher, our athletes continued to compete with energy, sporting camaraderie and respect. And then, as the sun began to set, the final scoreboard confirmed it – a 44-17 victory for UEA, a rewarding result after a day of determination, teamwork, and true celebration of university sport!
A huge well done to everyone who took part – athletes, supporters, organisers and the uea+sport team – who all represented the very best of ambition, collaboration, empowerment and respect in action, on and off the field.
