If you'd like to get involved in our research studies, we'd love to hear from you!

Below are details of how to register your interest to become a volunteer for ongoing and future research studies, conducted by the Department of Nutrition at UEA. Our studies are generally conducted at our clinical facility in the Quadram Institute (on the Norwich Research Park), but may also include assessments on the main campus of UEA and the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital. Some studies provide inconvenience payments (based on the type of assessments performed) and travel expenses to, and from, the research facilities. The reimbursement schedule for each study is approved by ethical bodies and will be confirmed in advance of participation.

If the form below isn't appearing on the page, press F5 or otherwise refresh the page in your browser, which will make it appear.

To participate in our research studies, you must be 18 years of age or above.

You can complete our volunteer database registration form below. Once completed, you will receive information for studies that you may be eligible to participate in; your potential eligibility will be determined from the answers you provide in the registration form. Please feel free to inform us if you have a change in your health or medication status, as this may affect which studies you are contacted about.  Registering your details in our volunteer database does not commit you to take part in any study and you can choose to be removed from the volunteer database at any point (see details below).

All of the studies that we will notify you about have received ethical approval from the local Ethics Committee.

On the Registration Form, we will ask you to provide some personal details. Some of this information is optional. We use this information solely to determine your eligibility for studies. Any information that you provide during any study is kept strictly confidential and stored in line with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Data Protection Act 2018, which is designed to protect your personal data.

Your personal data will only be used for research purposes within the Nutrition Department at UEA and will not be shared with any third parties. Any personal information (such as name, address, contact details) supplied by you, will be handled by GDPR trained research staff and will be strictly confidential (for example: stored in a password controlled database on the UEA server).

We will store your data indefinitely, but will remove it immediately if requested to do so and dispose of it according to UEA confidential disposal routes.

For more information, see our Data Protection information pages.

Please send an email to nutr.panel@uea.ac.uk with REMOVE in the subject line and we will delete all of your data from our database and will send you no further emails about studies.
