My name is Chloe Huvenne and I am currently studying Biological Sciences at UEA with a year abroad. There are many reasons why I chose UEA but perhaps one of most important is the fact that it is not only known for its academic excellence but also ranked as the top UK University for student satisfaction. Furthermore, as I travelled around and lived abroad for the majority of my life, I wanted to continue learning in English and wanted to live in a multicultural environment which I found at UEA.
Academically speaking, studying at UEA has allowed me to explore new and interesting aspects of Biology which I would have otherwise never thought of studying. One of the best things about studying here is that everyone genuinely wants to help you succeed. In order to best support us, help sessions for almost anything are organized throughout the year. Another good thing about my course is that you actually get to spend a lot of time in the lab which gives you lots of hands on experience and allows you to apply or observe abstract concepts you learn during lectures.
Living on campus has definitely helped me make friends and get to know people from very diverse backgrounds. I have joined a couple of sports clubs and societies with some of my flatmates which has not only brought us closer together but also allowed me to meet other people. Being a part of the Bio Society, cinema society and doing volunteer work has been not only fun but instructive and fulfilling. Going out into the city is always a fun little adventure but something I really appreciate is how beautiful and safe it is. Another great thing about Norwich is that although it seems very peaceful, there is always something going on whether it be a music festival or even Halloween celebrations!
Overall I couldn't be happier with my decision to come to UEA and can't wait for the years to come.

Communication and Language Studies
Ici à UEA on m'a « appris à apprendre ».
Hello everyone, I am Charline, a postgraduate student in Communication and Language studies at UEA. I chose to study here simply because I had heard a lot of good things about UEA and because I had read that it has a very high rate of satisfaction among students. Moreover, UEA was offering the perfect Master to complete my linguistic background. The MA in Communication and Language studies was especially created for international students and it allows students to enlarge their horizons. There are quite a lot of modules to choose from. For instance, I will be studying the European institutions and international affairs this semester. UEA is also a very multicultural university and as I come from a very multicultural country that was something very important to me when I chose to study here.
The educational system in the UK is very different from the one in Belgium. Here at UEA I have been taught how to learn. An important part of the learning process is left to the student and this really allowed me to get more involved in my studies and to develop my critical self. I have also noticed that my professors are more trustful of my own capacities and that they give me more freedom whilst being available to answer my queries.
Of course, life at university is not all about studying. I have met a lot of great people from all around the world at UEA. And then, there is the city of Norwich, a small and charming town with its market, castle and cathedral.
As a whole, I would say my experience at UEA has been very interesting and fulfilling.
