My UEA Story: Isaac Law

Hello! I am Isaac Law and I’m a former Accounting and Finance student.

What attracts me most about UEA is the gorgeous campus and accommodation. Imagine how good your life will be studying on the lawn, playing whatever kinds of sports or enjoying a BBQ with your friends by the river! You just can’t resist the temptation of living in the Ziggurats!  The library opening 24/7, working out in the largest indoor sports centre in the UK, bank, launderettes, café on campus … You simply can’t find any universities in Hong Kong or the UK with a campus better than here!

UEA is renowned for its student support services and teaching quality. An academic advisor is assigned to everyone, who is always here to support you and try to make sure you have a fruitful experience at UEA. In addition, if you have any queries about your job application and CV, you can just pop in to Career Central to ask for advice. Participating in the UEA Award from Career Central is definitely one of the ways to boost your employability, which recognises a range of activities, both academic and extra-curricular undertaken during the time at UEA that help you develop the skills and attributes for both life and employment when you complete the course here and culminates in a certificate from the university.

If you are worried that you can’t make any friends when you study abroad, there are over 200 student societies and clubs that you can join. Obviously you can make a lot of friends by participating in activities and socials organised by these societies, for instance joining the orientation camp organised by the Hong Kong Society, taking on committee roles during your first year, part-time work etc. I hope you will enjoy studying at UEA just as much as I did.
