The UEA is committed to the highest standards of openness, probity and accountability. It seeks to conduct its affairs in a responsible manner taking into account the requirements of the funding bodies and the standards in public life set out in the reports of the Nolan Committee. An important aspect of this commitment is the availability of a mechanism whereby staff may voice concerns in a responsible and effective manner. The Council of the University has approved this policy statement and procedure so that when an individual discovers information which he or she believes to show malpractice/wrong doing within the University, this information may be disclosed (if necessary independently of line management) without fear of reprisal.
