Module Overview / Introduction
This module will consider the role of patient-centred, multi-professional working across complext health and care settings in the field of neurological rehabilitation. The module learning outcomes and content are fully mapped against the NHS England (2023) Advanced Practice Credential Specification for Neurological Rehabilitation (including Stroke). The aim of the module is to enable practitioners to design, deliver and evaluate safe and effective professional activity, personalised care and services in Neurorehabilitation at an advanced level of practice.
Case-based learning will be used throughout the module to facilitate development of effective clinical reasoning and decision-making at an advanced level, underpinned by explicit reference to the latest research evidence and a range of clinical insight and expertise.

Learning Outcomes
By the end of this module you will be able to:
- Critically analyse and apply diverse clinical information to inform advanced assessment, diagnosis, clinical reasoning and expert decision-making in neurorehabilitation. This will be informed by an in-depth knowledge of related anatomy, physiology, pathophysiology and pharmacotherapy (Domains A, B, C, G)
- Identify, analyse, evaluate and apply contemporary, robust evidence in the assessment and management of individuals requiring neurorehabilitation and in developing and delivering effective neurorehabilitation services (Domains B, C, G);
- Undertake evidence-based critical evaluation of the implementation of interventions throughout a rehabilitation pathway in different settings, including assessment and management of risk, and collaborative working to empower service users to self-manage (Domains C, D, G).
- Critically explore the limits and opportunities of the multi-professional advanced practitioner role within the field of neurological rehabilitation, including stroke, legal, ethical and professional issues relating to the scope of your own autonomous practice and partnership working with patients, carers, MDT and external service and agencies (Domains D, E)
- Critically appraise your own and others' communication and professional capabilities, values and behaviours, including your role in creating a positive working and learning environment that delivers effective and inclusive services and outcomes for people requiring neurological rehabilitation and their significant others (Domains D, E, F)
