Research Students/Staff and Patients

Patient Carer and Public Involvement and Engagement

We developed the SIGHT trial with help of stroke survivors, family/carers, and clinicians. They gave us advice including how to test if the therapy impacts spatial inattention in daily life and how to invite people to take part in the study.

One of the project team is a stroke survivor. She will lead a group of stroke survivors to work with and provide advice to the research team. The advisory group will also include a researcher and someone from the Stroke Association. The group will meet every 4 months. They will also consult with and seek advice from ethnically diverse community groups. They will feedback to the research team. The advisory group will ensure study materials are clear and accessible. They will make sure the opinions of stroke survivors and the public are central to the research.
