The University of East Anglia (UEA) is proud to announce a new international partnership with International College Lahore (ICL), a pioneering higher education institution being established in Pakistan.
This collaboration marks a significant step in UEA’s global engagement strategy and reflects its commitment to expanding access to high-quality education worldwide.
ICL is a newly founded institution with a purpose-built campus set to open in January 2026.
It is affiliated with the successful International School Lahore, which has been operating since 2020 and currently educates around 10,000 students, including 2,700 A-level students.
ICL aims to provide students in Lahore and across Pakistan with the opportunity to pursue internationally recognised degrees without the need to study abroad.
Students at ICL will be able to study LLB Law, BSc Computing Science or BSc Computing Science and Software Development, starting from January 2026.
Lahore, the cultural capital of Punjab and one of Pakistan’s largest cities, is also recognised as a UNESCO City of Literature - part of the same global network as Norwich - celebrated for its rich storytelling traditions and vibrant literary heritage.
A delegation from UEA visited ICL in April and was impressed by the scale of its ambition and the quality of its facilities.
In return, representatives from ICL visited UEA in September to discuss the details of the collaboration and tour the campus. The partnership has now been formally signed and finalised.
Professor Steven McGuire, Pro-Vice-Chancellor for International and Deputy Vice-Chancellor of UEA, said: “This partnership with ICL represents an exciting opportunity for UEA to contribute to the development of higher education in Pakistan.
“It aligns with our mission to make world-class education accessible globally and offers a new pathway for talented students in Lahore to gain a UEA degree.
“We are proud to be part of ICL’s journey and look forward to the impact this collaboration will have on students, communities, and the future of international education.”
Shazad Tahir, founder, President and CEO of ICL, said: “International College Lahore was founded on a vision to revolutionize education in Pakistan by providing unparalleled access to world-class learning opportunities.
“In our pursuit of academic excellence, we sought a partner that shares our unwavering commitment to innovation and student success. The University of East Anglia, with its global reputation for research and dedication to student achievement, perfectly embodies our ideals.
“This collaboration marks a significant milestone, empowering generations of Pakistani students to benefit from UEA's esteemed programs without leaving their homeland. It's a moment of immense pride and joy that will have a lasting impact on our nation's educational landscape.”
