UEA’s Allied Health Profession courses continue to shine in Complete University Guide’s subject rankings

UEA’s Allied Health Profession courses continue to shine in Complete University Guide’s subject rankings. Credit: UEA

The University of East Anglia is proud to celebrate successes across multiple disciplines, with some courses climbing dramatically in the latest Complete University Guide’s subject league tables.

Each year, the Complete University Guide publishes its UK university and subject league tables to help prospective students make informed choices about their future, including those weighing up late decisions or exploring Clearing options.

UEA’s School of Health Sciences continues to shine

BSc Paramedic Science has risen four places to become the number 1 course in the UK
BSc Occupational Therapy retains its top ranking for the third year running
All Allied Health Profession courses remain firmly within the UK top 10
Nursing and Midwifery holds a strong position in the top third of all nursing courses nationwide.

Rising stars across the University

Beyond Health Sciences, several other UEA departments have made significant strides in the 2025 rankings:

Biomedical Sciences jumped 13 places, climbing from 28th to 15th
Communication and Media Studies moved up eight places to reach 20th
Geology also made a significant climb, rising six places to rank 15th in the UK

Prof Christopher Burton, Dean of the School of Health Sciences, said: “This national recognition of the excellence of our nursing, midwifery and allied health professional courses is testament to the commitment of our academic teams. They also reflect the strong partnerships we have with health and care organisations that provide placements and support our students in practice. Importantly, these outcomes also reflect the passion and dedication of our students.”

Dr Kathryn Mares, Head of Department for Allied Health Professions, said: “This achievement recognises all the work behind the scenes supporting our students’ learning and wellbeing, and the collaborative working with our partner organisations to deliver an excellent learning experience for our future health and social care workforce.”
