UEA strengthens position in noted global university rankings

The University of East Anglia (UEA) has strengthened its standing among the world's leading universities after climbing five places in the latest Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU).
Widely known as the Shanghai Ranking, the ARWU places UEA at 306th, at the top-end of the global 301-400 tier, while maintaining its position as the 27th highest-ranked university in the UK for a second consecutive year.
The ARWU assesses institutions against six measures of academic and research performance, including the number of highly cited researchers, papers published in leading journals, overall research output and per-capita academic achievement.
Published today (15 August), the results further highlight the success of UEA graduates, with the University placed 59th in the world for the number of alumni who have gone on to receive Nobel Prizes and Fields Medals.
The outcome reflects UEA's ongoing commitment to world-class research, outstanding teaching and delivering positive impact through the work of its staff, students and alumni.
