The University of East Anglia (UEA) has strengthened its reputation for career-focused education and strong student outcomes in the latest Complete University Guide 2027 rankings.
Standout results were in Physiotherapy, Counselling, Psychotherapy and Occupational Therapy, and Paramedic Science - which were all ranked second in the UK.
The University also boasts a strong portfolio of top 10 subjects, including Biomedical Sciences (10th), Speech and Language Therapy (8th), Creative Writing (9th), and American Studies (6th).
The Complete University Guide 2027 subject rankings are based on six key measures - entry standards, student satisfaction, continuation (whether students remain on their course), research quality, and two measures of graduate outcomes.
Of the 35 courses analysed, 77 per cent outperformed UEA’s overall ranking. This means students are more likely to study in departments performing above national expectations.
The results show that UEA’s strengths lie not just in its overall placing, but in the depth and quality of its subject offering - where students benefit from demonstrable academic and career impact.
The data also shows clear signs of positive momentum for UEA, with multiple subjects climbing the rankings, including:
Nursing and Midwifery rising 10 places to 12th
Sports Science rising nine places to 14th
History of Art, Architecture and Design rising 10 places to ninth
These improvements are driven by strong gains in student satisfaction, graduate outcomes, and entry standards - contributing to a stronger student experience and better preparation for life after graduation.
