There are two funding competitions within the Faculty of Science for studentships to start October 2019:
Faculty of Science Open Studentship Competition
Faculty funding for studentships in biological, social and environmental sciences is distributed via our Doctoral Training Partnerships (see links on this page). We also have a number of PhD studentships for research in other fields. These will be awarded via an open competition, based on the academic track record of applicants.
Applicants need to agree a research outline with a supervisor and include this in an online application - select ‘applicant-led project’. The supervisor will then be able to put this forward to the Faculty of Science Open Studentship competition. Your research proposal could be based on a topic advertised as open to self funded applicants. See the “More information” section of or 'Prospective Students' page for ways of contacting staff in your area.
Studentships will cover a stipend and fees at the “home/EU” rate for three years, but are available to non-UK students able to fund any difference in fees from other sources.
The Faculty of Science Project-Led Studentship Competition
Projects for this competion will be advertised by 26 October 2018 and full details of the projects will be available at http://www.uea.ac.uk/study/postgraduate/research-degrees/phds-and-studentships
Closing date for applications
The closing date for both of the Faculty of Science Studentship Competitions is 26 November 2018.
