Preparing for Pharmacy is a set of activities designed to guide students through the process of applying for pharmacy courses and prepare them for university-level study. It's open to Year 12/Level 3 Year 1 students in Norfolk and North-East Suffolk, with priority given to those who meet our widening participation criteria.

Participants will receive free support and exclusive activities throughout Year 12/L3 Y1 and Year 13/L3 Y2. We'll help them brush up on their interview skills and offer expert mentoring to help them stand out from other applicants. On top of all that, we'll support them to gain real-world work experience of being a pharmacist.

Students need to apply for a place themselves so please pass on the info to anyone you think might be interested. Applications will open in early 2027.

What will students do?

There's lots more information for students on this page, so they can understand what they'll get involved with over the 18 months of activity. In-person and online activities will take place during school holidays, evenings or weekends. Some activities will be self-directed learning to be completed in student's own time. There's a real mix of delivery styles throughout the 18 months to enable the widest possible engagement.

Your students can get involved in:

• Welcome event with problem based learning scenarios

• E-mentoring from current pharmacy students

• Work experience placement in a pharmacy supported by on-campus activity

• Application and interview support for studying pharmacy

• Chemistry masterclass and revision support for A-levels

• Transition support for those going on to study at UEA, with access to experienced advisers

This multi-touchpoint activity sets your students up for success for studying pharmacy. They'll have access to skilled and knowledgeable professionals and current students throughout. This is their chance to get the support they need to make informed and confident choices about their future.
