Artists impression of refurbished Lasdun Wall
The Grade II listed Lasdun Wall is an iconic and important part of University of East Anglia’s (UEA) history. But the building needs repair and refurbishment so we can create even better teaching, learning and modern research spaces. Ensuring the space continues to be a centre for academic and research excellence in the future.
The building is also a major contributor to our carbon emissions. The required refurbishment will also deliver essential sustainability improvements to enable us to meet our pledge to be a net zero campus by 2045.
We have been working since December 2020 with a very wide range of stakeholders to prepare for our upcoming planning application on 26 April 2022 for the first part of this important refurbishment programme.
The public consultation for the design element of these plans is taking place between 3-7pm, Wednesday 2 February, in The Foyer of the Enterprise Centre, University of East Anglia, University Drive, Norwich, NR4 7TJ.
The event is open to everyone, and members of the Project Team will be available at the event to provide further information and answer questions.
For those unable to attend in person, the proposals can be viewed, and feedback provided via our public consultation website, hosted by our Planning Consultants, Bidwells. This will also go live from Wednesday 2nd February until Friday 18th February.
Regular updates will be shared throughout the programme. We are committed to keeping our students, staff and community informed.
