Held on Wednesday 15 March, the inaugural Spring Street Market was a bustling success for the University of East Anglia (UEA), with a high turnout of both stall holders and visitors attending on the day.
Local traders, graduates, student and staff creators sprang into action on the UEA campus as the centre of campus came alive with music, eating and browsing – with more than 35 stalls in attendance for the community to ponder over.
Stallholders included a local microsoapery, Kenyan one-of-a-kind crafter birds by a graduate, food from Brown Bread and many more. With gifts for all, including handcrafted jewellery stands, paintings and prints, freshly baked goods and produce, the day turned out to be a spring success.
Phil Steele, Director of Sport & Commercial Services, said: “It was great to see The Street at the heart of our campus so busy. As well as offering a great local shopping experience, we’re pleased to have been able to support lots of student and graduate businesses.
“We are looking forward to our next market event and using The Warren as a flexible event space with the students at the core. We are always interested in hearing from local businesses who would like to connect with the campus population, whether this is with a stall at our markets or using our event space.”
The UEA Sports & Commercial Services team are always interested to hear from local traders hoping to come to campus. For enquiries or expressions of interest, traders can: contact the.warren@uea.ac.uk or visit UEA Campus Facilities.
