Co-Development and Collaborative Working
The Primary Care and Neighbourhood Health theme conducts high quality research related to primary and/or community care, with an emphasis on co-development and collaborative working with people affected by our research. We aim to conduct translational research using inclusive methods, that has a significant impact on health and clinical care both within our local communities and nationally. We have longstanding trusted relationships with multiple community partners such as Norwich City Council, Public Health and Norfolk County Council, Norfolk and Waveney Integrated Care Board, Men's Craft, Feather's Futures, Shrublands, The Zainab Project CIC, local foodbanks and Norfolk Community Foundation.
Our current key areas of research include nutrition and food poverty, women’s health, obesity and asylum seeker and refugee health. The theme also includes GP clinical academic trainees, such as NIHR academic clinical fellows (ACFs) and NIHR clinical lecturers.
Nourishing Norfolk
Funded by The National Lottery Community Fund the Nourishing Norfolk evaluation led by Dr Sarah Hanson and Anna Sweeting evaluated its impact beyond food access, encompassing health, wellbeing, community connectedness and everyday lives.
The evaluation also included a Social return on investment report. Internationally this is the first Social Return on Investment of social supermarkets.
