Plates should show a decrease in the number of microorganisms from the washed fingers inoculation compared to unwashed finger inoculation. There are a variety of colony morphologies present including convex and crenated. Most plates show colonies with different colour variations. Some have a smooth surface while others glisten. There are a variety of shapes including circular and irregular edges. Typical microorganisms these might represent include Bacillus mycoides and yeasts.
