We have now considered your request of 08 October 2026 for the following information:

Under the Freedom of Information Act 2000, please provide the following information about bars, cafes and catering outlets operated by the university or by any company wholly owned by the university, for each academic year from 2016/17 to 2025/26.

Question 1. Total revenue from alcoholic drinks.

Our response:

For the last 12 months, the total revenue from alcoholic drinks sold from University owned and operated establishments (not including Student Union who are exempt from Freedom of Information legislation), from 14 September 2025 to 13 October 2026 was £11,624.65.

On this occasion it is not possible to provide all of the requested information. In line with your rights under section 1(1)(a) of the Act to be informed whether information is held, we confirm that the University does not hold any recorded information for the total revenue from alcoholic drinks sold from University bars, cafes, catering outlets for academic years 2016-27 to 2025-26. The University hold no earlier data prior to the last 12 months due to procurement system changes, this information has not been retained and is no longer held.

Question 2. The volume of alcohol sold, in litres or number of units or serves, whichever is recorded.
