FOI_26-262 Medicine admissions selection post interview
Date of response: 23 October 2026
We have now considered your request of 04 October 2026 for the following information:
Our remaining questions concern selection after interview:
Question 1. For 2027 entry, is the final offer ranking for overseas applicants weighted 50% UCAT and 50% interview? Could you explain how the UCAT score is converted into its contribution to the final score, and how SJT is included?
Our response:
The interviewees are ranked by the overall cognitive score and the overall interview score (which includes the SJT subsection score). These two ranks are combined (50% and / 50%) to provide an overall rank.
The SJT component score is included in the interview score.
Question 2. For 2026 entry, how many overseas school-leavers were interviewed, and how many received offers?
Our response:
For the purpose of this response, we are classifying any school-leaver as ages 17 – 19 taking a Level 3 qualification.
61 were interviewed and 36 received an offer.
Question 3. If readily available, could you share the lowest and median UCAT scores among overseas school-leavers who received offers for 2026 entry, on the 2700-point scale?
We would be interested to know whether applicants with scores around 1900–2000 received offers following a strong interview.
Our response:
Lowest 1670 and the median UCAT score was 2030.
