FOI_26-258 Number of parking spaces, rainwater collection and heat pumps

We have now considered your request of 05 October 2026 for the following information:

Please give figures as at 30 September 2026 (or the latest date you hold), covering all of the university's UK campuses and halls of residence.

Question 1. The number of electric vehicle charging units on your estate. Please count each charging unit once, and say how many charging bays they serve in total if that differs.

Question 2. The total number of car parking spaces on your estate, for all users.

Question 3. The number of cycle parking spaces, split into secure or covered spaces and open stands, if recorded separately.

Question 4. The total installed capacity of solar photovoltaic panels, in kWp. If capacity is not recorded, please give the number of buildings with solar panels instead.

Question 5. The number of buildings with a rainwater or greywater harvesting system, and their total storage capacity in litres if recorded.

Question 6. The number of heat pumps installed, and their total capacity in kW if recorded.

Question 7. The percentage of electricity bought in 2025/26 on a renewable tariff or through a renewable power purchase agreement.

Question 8. The number of vehicles the university owns or leases, and how many of these are fully electric.

Question 9. The university's net zero target year, if it has one.

On this occasion it is not possible to provide all of the requested information. In line with your rights under section 1(1)(a) of the Act to be informed whether information is held, we confirm that the University does not hold any recorded information for their total storage capacity in litres for rainwater and greywater systems, nor do we hold any requested information for the number of heat pumps installed and their total capacity.
