FOI_26-227 A100 MB BS Medicine applicants and admissions criteria
Date of response: 05 October 2026
We have now considered your request of 14 September 2026 for the following information:
Under the applicable freedom of information legislation, please provide the following recorded information for Medicine MBBS (A100) at University of East Anglia UEA, separately for the 2023/24, 2024/25 and
2025/26 undergraduate admissions cycles.
For this request, a “valid application” means an application considered for this course, an “offer” includes conditional and unconditional offers, and “meeting the standard predicted academic entry requirements” means an existing institutional flag or rule. I am not asking the University to create a new assessment of individual applications.
Question 1. The number of valid applications, offers and acceptances, where acceptances are held.
Our response:
| 2023-24 | 2024-25 | 2025-26 | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Number of applications | 1396 | 1269 | 1202 |
| Number of offers | 563 | 627 | 581 |
| Number of acceptances | 211 | 216 | 215 |
Question 2. The number of applicants recorded at the point of decision as meeting the standard predicted academic entry requirements, and the number of offers made to that group.
Our response:
| 2023-24 | 2024-25 | 2025-26 | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Number of applications | 479 | 563 | 627 |
| Number of offers | 479 | 563 | 627 |
Question 3. The number of applicants receiving contextual consideration, where held and disclosable in aggregate.
Our response:
Not applicable. There is no contextual consideration
Question 4. Predicted qualification profiles in broad bands, but only where these are already held in a readily extractable form.
Our response:
This information is not held in a readily extractable form, but please note that all applicants cannot progress to selection for interview without meeting our entry requirements.
Question 5. Whether interview, admissions test, portfolio, audition or other selection-stage scores are recorded.
Where readily extractable, please provide aggregate counts reaching each stage and receiving an offer, preferably by broad score band. If score bands cannot be supplied within the cost limit, stage totals alone would be helpful.
Our response:
Please see response to previous related request, our ref: FOI_26-224 A100 Medicine admissions criteria
Question 6. Any formal scoring rubric or selection methodology approved for use in those cycles, excluding material whose disclosure would prejudice the integrity of a live assessment.
For this request, a “valid application” means an application considered for this course, an “offer” includes conditional and unconditional offers, and “meeting the standard predicted academic entry requirements” means an existing institutional flag or rule. I am not asking the University to create a new assessment of individual applications.
